To create the products that are used and worn with no concern on health and environmental issues, all of TELLER hand-dyed products are dyed with 100% NON-toxic Italian-made dyeing agent.
All colors are made in house
Both dye and edge paint colors are hand-mixed by me in my studio, one color at a time. No formulas, no instructions — just feel, instinct, and whatever theme the piece calls for, in order to make sure each one is truly one of a kind.
Made with the leather that only gets better with age
The vegetable tanned leather used for my hand-dyed products comes from renowned U.S. and Italian tanneries.
Dyeing Process & Color Variations
The amount of dye each piece receives varies—some get 2–3 layers to let the natural grain show through, others more for a deeper, richer tone. Each piece is massaged and buffed both before and after being cut and dyed, then sealed by hand.
Because everything is done entirely by hand, the leather wears in its own unique way—unlike factory-finished leather. Hand-dyed pieces, especially those with richer color mixes, may also reveal hidden tones over time. A color you didn’t notice at first might slowly emerge as the leather settles in.
Formulas for past dye mixes aren’t kept—and even the same mix can look different depending on the leather—so color reproduction requests aren’t possible. Every mix is a one-time thing.
