Using extremely durable UV resistant Cream and Ink color waxed threads, this case is hand cross-stitched, which takes more than twice as much time as the saddle stitch takes.  The hand cross-stitch also requires two to three times as much thread as the saddle stitch requires. 
 
The edges below the stitches are painted in dark purple.  Brass hardware.  Hand-burnished edges.
