"OLVERA" HORWEEN Horsehide Glasses Case (Dual Parallel & 4 Color Stitch)
Made with 5oz HORWEEN horsehide, tanned alongside their shell cordovan. This piece carries a quiet warmth - subtle in tone, but rich in character.
The "OLVERA" case was glazed on its surface by applying leather cream, and then hand DUAL parallel cross-stitched with FOUR colors (Red, Moss, Navy and Yellow) of durable UV-resistant German threads — two on each side working in rhythm. As the horsehide develops patina over time, the tones deepen and evolve - changing the way those threads interact with the surface. What begins as restraint gradually becomes something more expressive. Inspired by a well-known street in Los Angeles.
